Weekend Recap!

Friday afternoon started off with me attending a movie with my friend Kathy and Cindy joined us this week! We almost couldn't find something to go to b/c the times were so late, but we finally discovered The Grace Card was playing at 4:00. So, off we went! I had seen on the news Friday morning that The Grace Card was filmed mostly in Memphis. I love when I get to see scenes from our town, it's too neat. The movie had an amazing story. It was sad at times, but a very uplifting and motivating story. Glad we decided to go!Friday night I actually made dinner which I hardly ever do b/c Eric usually has pizza at work. I had been craving spaghetti so I made some simple spaghetti. I think next time I make it I want to ground some beef or get some/make some meatballs to put in it to give it a little extra flavor. I also want to try whole wheat pasta since it is better for us.

Saturday for lunch, Eric and I went to The West Street Diner. I have wanted to try the diner for a long time now, and we just so happen to have tons of coupons to restaurants since I have 3 coupon books that have been given to me at work. Turns out we had a buy one meal get one coupon so we went. I got catfish, fried okra, and mac & cheese. Very tasty. My favorite part was their homemade (tasted homemade) tarter sauce and the biscuits. Oh the biscuits were so good! Eric had country fried steak, mac & cheese, and turnip greens. He wasn't as impressed with his choice as I was mine. We probably won't be going back anytime soon, but now we know what the town diner is like plus we have a breakfast coupon to use :)

Little bit later, Em and I hit up Yogurt Mountain's newest location. The yogurt choices were pretty much the same as the other location, but the building is so much smaller. We couldn't even find a place to sit that we wouldn't feel crowded in by others so we ate in the car. I got vanilla yogurt that was colored green for St. patty's Day. That is the most holiday spirited place ever! Valentine's time they had tons of pink toppings, now they have tons of green toppings.

Last night, Eric and I had one of our Walmart trips to get loads of groceries and other items. It actually wasn't that crowded so the trip wasn't a major pain like Walmart can be. When we got home, we started a free month to Netflix using our Wii, thinking we are going to love it! All we watched so far were the very first two episodes of the Office b/c it was late and I fell asleep on the couch like I typically do :)

Tonight, Em is going to spend the night since the parentals are going to the casino for the night. Lacie is joining her as well. JoJo will be thrilled!

Baby Kaylee's Crib :)

Kaylee's daddy put her crib together on his day off Monday. Isn't it pretty? Eric did a great job and he even decorated it so it looked cute when I came home to see it. You can't see in the middle, but he put a stuffed animal frog in the middle as the "baby." The bedding that is in there is not the bedding we will be keeping, but it is so very cute! We like it, but it would be difficult to find everything to match it since it was a a clearance item. I will post the bedding we picked out soon. My mom sure does a great job of finding items on clearance. Kaylee already has some adorable outfits in her closet :)

Busy Busy Week!

Had such a busy but fun week, no time to post! Here is a recap of my week :)

Sunday: Papa Faught and Adam came over to help Eric fix the garage once again. I went to Target and registered for us there then headed to Kroger to grocery shop. Then, Eric and I made dinner from a recipe which we hardly do. We made a chicken taco type casserole.

Monday: Valentine's Day! Eric and I gave each other our cards the night before plus I got some candy. A combo of sour and not sour :) We also went to Red lobster on Saturday, which was delicious. Then, we hit up Burlington's Baby Depot, registered for a few items, and bought a crib! We ended up getting a chocolate Delta crib. Picture below of what it will look like whenever we get it out of the box and set up :) After school, I went and got Em and we went to Yogurt Mountain. They had a buy one get one free deal for V-Day. She then came back home with me, we walked JoJo around the park for a bit, ate some of the chicken casserole, and hung out while we both did school stuff.

Tuesday: Typical work day, but we had a PTA meeting so I stayed in Bartlett all day arriving home at 8:00. Went to eat at O'Charleys with two of my teacher friends before the meeting. Ordered my typical chicken tenders and potato soup. So tasty! We had to wait forever for our food b/c there was some kind of mishap so our food ended up being free. Even better :)

Wednesday: Typical work day, got home at my regular time, took JoJo on a nice walk in the once again beautiful weather! Then, had dinner plans with my friend Kassie. We went to Panera to catch up since we hadn't seen each other in a while. Food was very tasty, I had a chicken bacon dijon sandwich with mac and cheese. We had a good time catching up talking about school and our lives! After that, headed to the BR to visit Em. Got a daquiri ice freeze with my coupon :)

Thursday: Typical work day with parent/teacher conferences from 4:00-7:00. Our PTA provided us with HoneyBaked Ham box lunches for our afternoon snack. I had a roast beef sandwich, baked chips, and a yummy chocolate chip cookie. Gave me just enough energy to get through the long day!

Friday: Typical work day with my fun Friday afternoon movie plans! We went and saw Just Go With It. We laughed a lot during this movie! Adam Sandler is great at making comedies, and I just love Jennifer Aniston. Definitely recommend this romantic comedy! Four stars :)

Friday Afternoon Movies :)

My teacher friend Kathy and I have started having Friday afternoon movie dates! Last year, I started going to movies with her and some of her students that reached a certain goal with their AR points on an occasional Friday, but that was for a movie suitable for 8 year olds. We have seen a couple of "grown-up" movies together before, but we are starting a new Friday afternoon activity! I have loved it so far. We have decided to go each Friday that there is a movie worth seeing until the end of the school year when I have baby Kaylee b/c that means next school year I will not be able to go with her since I will have to tend to my baby girl :) So far we have seen The Dilemma with Vince Vaughn and Kevin James and The King's Speech with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.
The Dilemma was a good romantic/drama filled comedy. The whole movie was set around the fact that Vince Vaughn had a dilemma to figure out: To tell or not to tell his best friend (Kevin James) that his wife is cheating on him. Will not get into anymore details, b/c I wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone, I give it 3 stars. Good movie for gals and girls!

Ahh, The King's Speech. I would have never thought in a million years that this would be a movie that I would love, but I did. Typically, movies that are nominated for awards are not movies that I enjoy. The plots are either too in depth, the people speak in a way I don't understand, or the movie is just not interesting to me. This movie on the other hand was amazing. The basis of the movie is that Colin Firth has a stuttering problem that he must overcome since he is part of the royal family in England. When he becomes King George the 6th, it is even more vital that his speech is impeccable for the amazing radio broadcasts that had been invented in the late 30s. The whole movie is set around Colin Firth taking speech lessons from Geoffrey Rush to overcome his stuttering problem. I loved every minute of it and it was all history based (I despise history). Highly recommend this to all adults young and old. I give this movie 5 stars!

February Snow!

Here I am lounging on the couch enjoying Snow Day #4 of this school year. Last week was the only complete 5 day week we have had since coming back from the holiday break b/c of holidays and snow days. We started this week out with a 1 1/2 hour early dismissal on Monday because of a little bit of snow that had fallen, had a full day Tuesday, then a 2 1/2 hour early dismissal yesterday. The weather men really called it this time! They said it would start around 12:00 and it was about 12:06 when we first noticed it falling at school. Thank goodness they let us out when they did b/c when the snow started, it snowed hard! I was on my way home about 12:50 and arrived about 1:30. Little bit longer than usual b/c Gtown Pkway was a crazy mess, had to go about 25ish the whole way. My poor hubby didn't go into work until all the snow started falling. Thank goodness the bank branches closed early and his boss was nice enough to let him go early. He left work at 3:40 and did not arrive home until 5:00. A drive that normal takes him about 25 minutes! JoJo and I waited for Eric to get home to take a walk in the snow. Joey seemed to love it and I enjoyed it b/c I remembered my rainboots from school this time! Eric sure wished he had some boots b/c his feet got cold!

Running at full speed in the backyard chasing daddy :)

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday was held at our house this year. My mom and I purchased a pork butt from a girl that goes to my school. All funds went to her summer camp at church. I had never bought a pork butt before (people sell them all the time at work) but it probably won't be my last. It was yummy and there was so much to it! Here is a picture of a pork butt, not ours b/c I forgot to take a picture, but what ours looked like prior to the pulling to make sandwiches :)

With the pork butt we had some appetizers, my favorite was the pretzels with cheese inside oh and my spinach cheese dip! My sister made some yummy Boston Cream Pie cupcakes and I made brownies to have brownie sundaes! I didn't watch much of the game or the commercials. For the first year, I thought all the commercials were pretty dumb. All in all, Super Bowl Sunday was a success. I think our guests had a good time. Next year, Baby Kaylee will be here to make it more entertaining :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I've linked up for the first time through This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday! I attempted last week, but just couldn't figure the whole linking thing out. Here goes:

I'm Loving the super sweet wedding of Brooke and Julian on One Tree Hill. By far the best wedding on the show in my opinion. Nothing tragic happened like a typical OTH wedding, just pure happiness. Little Jamie gave the cutest best man speech ever!

I'm Loving Simply Orange Juice with added Calcium, Simply Raspberry Lemonade, and as of today my first try of Simply Apply Juice. I am trying to drink more healthy things since I have become pregnant and these are great!

I'm Loving this high chair from Baby Depot @ Burlington Coat Factory. I think it will be perfect for our kitchen and it is very reasonably priced!
