Kaylee's 1st Competition

I am a very competitive person by nature. Growing up playing competitive softball has placed a competitive edge in me :) Well, I can officially say at 9 months, Kaylee has already competed in her first competition! My brother who works with sports media helped get Kaylee in our town's NBA Infie 500 Race. It took place during half-time of a basketball game. Before the game, Kaylee had to qualify for the halftime race by competing in a preliminary race. She kicked butt in her preliminary and made it to the real race. Kaylee was not the winner of the Infie 500 by any means because she was too into looking at all the surroundings of the big stadium, but we were so proud of her!

Oh Spring Break, I have loved you so!

I have had the most wonderful time being home all week with my sweet girl. The weather was amazingly beautiful (until the massive rainfall today) so we went to the park each day and did a lot of swinging! We also just hung out in our own backyard b/c Kaylee LOVES to be outside.

Kaylee has become obsessed with her toes. Grosses me out, but it is also pretty cute. She rips off any socks you put on her now so that she can play with her toes :)

We had an amazing week together. Can't wait for the next 9 weeks of school to fly by so Kaylee and I can have 2 months of summer fun together :)

Kaylee- 9 months already!

It is so crazy that our sweet Kaylee is already 9 months, but she is today March 11th, 2012!

Sleeping: Kaylee is officially sleeping the WHOLE night in her own crib. We are very excited about this step. She has been such a good girl the past 4 nights and we hope she continues to :)

Eating: Still loving on some puffs and still no teeth! We have given Kaylee some random table foods while we eat dinner. She has tried rice, macaroni, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. We have also started giving Kaylee water in her sippie cup. She plays with it more than she drinks it, but it's a start!

Activity:  Kaylee is starting to walk while holding on to things, like the coffee table, couch, and her cute stroller! She can also give high fives and wave (sometimes hello, sometimes bye depending on the day)

Napping: Kaylee is really only taking about 2 naps a day now. One in the morning and one in the afternoon but they are longer than they used to be. Each one is usually 1.5-2 hours. Occasionally, she will nap a little bit in the late afternoon, but not much anymore!

Favorite Place: Kaylee's new favorite place is a little passageway in between our love seat and an end table! She loves to crawl through there and then just sit :)

Happy 9 months Kaylee Joy!

Randoms of the Week

We celebrated my sister's birthday Monday night with yummy shrimp and salad. Here is Kaylee with her Aunt PP on her actual birthday.

Kaylee officially has her 3rd ear infection so she hasn't been the happiest baby this week. I think she may be teething as well which is causing her to be in even more pain than just the ear b/c with the first two ear infections she was still her happy go lucky self. The new meds they gave Kaylee have her up partying in the middle of the night so we have to get that fixed with the doctor tomorrow.

Kaylee was showing off her gymnast skills this week in her high chair. I went to open the fridge, turned around, and there I saw her foot like this.

She wasn't trying to escape, she just wanted to sit like that. Silly girl!

Last night, Kaylee discovered how to open the tupperware cabinet in the kitchen. It was so cute to watch her pull out the pieces that she liked. I love that I have one more thing to entertain her now when I am trying to get dinner ready :)

It is Read Across America week this week at school. Always a fun time for the kiddos b/c we have dress up days with a book the school highlights each day. Totally got to wear PJs to school Tuesday for "I'm Not Going To Get Up Today." The book for today was The Lorax which I had never read before and I now love. My students were so into the story as I read it. I just love that my 3rd graders love to be read to b/c I love reading to them. I really want to see the Lorax movie now!

Kaylee had playdate #2 with miss Brooklyn this afternoon. It was a perfect day to show Brooklyn our neighborhood park. We took a stroll and of course went swinging!

We have been lovin the warm weather here! Here's to hoping the weekend is nice :)
