What I'm Loving!

I'm Loving the beginning of this holiday season with my baby girl!

I'm Loving the festivities my town has to offer during the holidays.  We had fun at the tree lighting and meeting Santa!

I'm Loving Kaylee's fascination with paper and how she already can throw a tantrum :)

I'm Loving this beautiful face!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today was such a good day. Kaylee enjoyed getting to visit with both sides of the family. I don't think she was ever let down :) Being the only grandchild gives her lots of attention. Both meals were wonderful and so was the company. We took some photos to document the day @ my parent's house.

Laughing @ JoJo being a silly pup!

Being silly with 1 of her 5 uncles!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm Loving that I have these next 5 days off! One of those perks of being a school teacher :)

I'm Loving that Kaylee and I get to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade together tomorrow morning! Starting a tradition :)

I'm Loving that we get to celebrate Kaylee's 1st Thanksgiving with Eric's family and mine. So nice that everyone lives in town!

"I'm Thankful" Linky Party

What the Teacher Wants is having a Thanksgiving Linky Party. She has a few thankful questions posted. I picked a couple to blog about. Click on the button below to join in yourself!

What am I thankful for in my classroom? I am most thankful for my students. I could not do what I do each day without the vibrant 8 and 9 year olds that I teach. I am also very thankful for my laptop. Sadly, it would be very difficult for me to get through a school day without it. This year, I am also thankful for my first ever student teacher. This semester, she is with us only on Mondays and Tuesdays, but after Christmas we will have her each day. So fun to help mentor someone and lead them into the profession of teaching.

What person am I most thankful for? Kaylee Joy. My 5 month old beautiful healthy daughter is the person I am most thankful for. She is the light of my life. Each and every minute I spend with her is amazing!

What guilty pleasure are you most thankful for? Currently, Starbucks Frappuccinos are my guilty pleasure. Today, I had my first Caramel BruleƩ Frapuccino of the season and it was amazing. Can't wait to get another!

Chicken Cheese Tortellini Soup

Eric and I love eating soup in the fall/winter. The main soup we always make is taco soup. We have already made it once this fall and will be making it again for our family Christmas party. We tried out a new recipe tonight that I found via Pintrest. Tortellini is such a plain food to eat with pasta sauce, so I thought kicking it up a notch in a soup might turn out pretty good. You can find the recipe here. We added chicken to it, and it turned out very tasty. A fast, easy, and delicious dinner that will last us a couple of nights. My kind of cooking :)
Our yummy creation
Any recommendations on good soups for us to try?

Miscellany Monday

Kaylee spends Mondays with my parents, which means I get to hang out with them in the afternoon too. Kaylee, my mom, me, and our two dogs headed to the park this afternoon. After walking around enjoying our 70 degree weather on the 14th day of November, we put Kaylee in the baby swing for her first time. She looks so tiny in it, but she just loved it!

We will be heading to the swing at the park behind our house soon. Kaylee just loves to be outside! What a fun Monday afternoon! What was your Monday like? Link up here to share.

If...

Saw some other bloggers answering these "If" questions and I thought I would join in on the fun!

If I could live anywhere in the US...

I would probably pick Florida just to not have to live in cold weather. Not necessarily on the beach, but somewhere with the beach close by that we could easily go for the weekend.

If I were to have more children...

I would be a happy woman. I have absolutely LOVED every minute of being a mom these past 5 months. Kaylee is such a joy to be around and she will be a great big sister to her future little brother or sister when the time comes.

If I could have any talent in the world...

I would love to be able to sing. I do not have a pleasant singing voice, but I love to sing along to music!

If you met me in real life...

You would see how blunt and sarcastic I am, sad but true.

If money were not an object...

I would have been across the US to both the west and east coasts and to Italy by now. Instead, I have not ventured out of the south...

If I could meet one celebrity...

Probably Alexis Bledel from my all time favorite show, Gilmore Girls.

If I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life...

I would probably pick Target. I have become more and more addicted to Target these past few months. Target is my go-to store for things we need and things we want :)

If I could chose one animal/pet...

I would choose my JoJo of course. JoJo is a wonderful pet. I highly recommend Cairn Terriers to anyone out there looking for a dog. Perfect size, no shedding, and adorable :)

If I could go on a trip right now...

I would go to the beach b/c it is so relaxing. The school year brings about so much stress at times and nothing sounds nicer than relaxing on a towel on a warm beach under the beautiful sun.

If I had to choose between a house cleaner and a personal chef...

Well since Eric is already my house cleaner ( I am lucky I know), I would have to pick a personal chef. I would love to have my own personal Bobby Flay to make dinner for us each night!

Would love to hear your "If" answers!

Trip to the Zoo!

Eric and I both had the day off yesterday for Veteran's Day. I appreciate everything that Veteran's have done for us and our country. My school has a Veteran's Day program each year and it is always a special day at our school. I even get emotional seeing all the kiddos with their parents and grandparents that have served or are currently serving. It is such a precious thing. Our music teacher creates a slideshow of pictures and it really shows you how many people give their lives for us to have freedom. Thank you to all Veteran's out there! Since I work for the school system and Eric works for a bank, we get to enjoy the day off together, this year with Kaylee! We decided to head on down to the zoo since it was such a pretty day.

Kaylee- 5 months

Kaylee Bug is 5 months today!

Sleeping: Kaylee goes to bed around 9 each night and sleeps through the night most of the time. She loves to cuddle with mommy!

Eating: Kaylee takes two 6 ounce bottles during the day, nurses in the morning and late afternoon, and has a mini bottle before bed.

Activity: Kaylee loves to sit up on her own! She is managing herself pretty well already. She topples over after a few minutes, but she is so proud of herself when she sits up. Kaylee also loves rolling over, from her back to her belly and her belly to her back.

Napping: Kaylee has been taking a couple of short naps throughout the day with a longer one in the late afternoon.

Favorite Place: Just being with people!

Such a big girl!
Her furry friend!

42.11

Today was our school system's 11th Annual "Race For Education." My sister and I went to the race together. I finished in 42.11 minutes which was very impressive for myself considering I don't even remember the last time I ran... I would say I ran a total of 15-20 minutes. Em and I started off good together, but her pace was way better so she jumped a little ahead. Proud of myself for actually running, wish I could motivate myself to exercise more. Kaylee and I need a jogging stroller so we can go out together! Maybe I will look into that :)
