Fun Friday afternoon!

After working and leaving my baby all week long, I really look forward to spending time with her on the weekends! Yesterday, we were just hanging out and decided to try that Bumbo seat out. Kaylee loved it!
Hmmm what is this.......

A comfy seat!

Blog Slacker!

I have been a blog slacker lately! With the new school year two weeks under my belt, I hope that I will have enough energy at the end of a day to write during the week. I know these first two weeks have sure kept me busy. I have been leaving school each day right when I finish my afternoon duty in order to go get/be with my baby girl. I love looking forward to seeing her each day, but I am not able to get as much done at school so I feel like I have to work on school stuff at night instead of blog.

This past week, Kaylee went to her daycare for the first time (3 days a week). She is going to a home close by my work of a mom of kiddos from my school. The lady watches Kaylee and 3 other small kiddos. I cried after I dropped her off the first day, but not the other two. I know she is in good hands, but it is hard to leave your little baby behind :(

Today, Kaylee went swimming for the first time! We had to wait till she got her two month shots for bacteria pool issues, plus she can't wear sunscreen so you have to be extra careful having her out in the hot. She loved the water. She laid with my mom on her float and sat on a small float while my mom held her. Kaylee loves her baths so I was pretty sure she would love the pool too and she did.

Eric and I were in charge of dinner tonight for my Sunday family dinner. We wanted to try something new so we made a Shepard's Pie. I really liked it and my family seemed to as well! We will definitely make it again.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I am enjoying mine more and more with this adorable little girl to spend them with :)

Kaylee- 2 Months!

Kaylee Joy is 2 months old today!

Sleeping: Kaylee goes to sleep around 9:30. She sleeps through the night sometimes and other times she wakes up once usually around 1:45 or 2:00.

Eating: She eats about every 3 hours. She is nursing in the morning and late afternoon with formula during the day and right before bed. She usually drinks 4 oz bottles.

Activity: Kaylee is smiling! She is chewing/sucking on toys that you give her. She is beginning to follow objects that you put in front of her. Still lifting her head well too!

Napping: Well after I feed her @ 6:00 before work, she usually goes back to sleep till 9 or 10 (long time). Then naps again around 1 or so. Usually an hour in the early afternoon and then another hour late afternoon/early evening.

Favorite Place: Laying on mommy's tummy (or anyone's for that matter)

Favorite Toy: Her "I love My Mommy" toy with four plastic things on the end to chew on.

Sunflowers :)

Each year the agricenter close to where we live grows sunflowers and people always take pictures by them. This year, with baby Kaylee, I decided it would be fun to join in with the majority and take family photos at the sunflowers after my sister recommended that we go. We went yesterday at 6:00. It was still super hot, but it was bearable for a good 15 minute photo session. Kaylee was a perfect baby. She was in a good mood and she managed to look at the camera a few times. We never got a smile out of her, but we got some cute pictures. Check them out!

Family B-Day Fun!

We celebrated my birthday with my family yesterday. We went to my sister's house and swam for a bit playing some fun pool games. Star and Categories, fun times! Then ate a yummy dinner, opened presents, and had dessert. Dinner consisted of shrimp, salad, homemade potato salad, and bread. While dessert was homemade vanilla ice cream and lemon cupcakes, my favorite!

Here is one of my presents:
And here is me with my Star:

Back in the groove

Went back to work this week organizing my classroom and learning the new evaluation system for our state. I love that we have a week of in-service/classroom work time. It really helps get your body and your mind prepared for the start of a new school year. Registration went smoothly and I can't wait to start the year with my 18 3rd graders, 10 girls and 8 boys which is way more even than last year's 14 boys and 6 girls....Ready to get the first day underway! Best of luck to me for surviving the first day tomorrow!
