Softball, Runaway JoJo, and Ribs!

Emily's softball season started up this week. I just love this time of year! Because I played the sport myself, I never got to be a spectator much. Ever since Emily started playing at Houston, I have loved every minute of watching her and her team. They had an okay start to the season, 2-2. I think the team will be pretty good this year. They have a few new players and everyone has talent to bring forth.

Our puppy dog JoJo LOVES being outside in HIS backyard. Some days (mainly weekends) he spends a good twelve hours in the backyard with a break to go on a walk :) On week days, Eric leaves him out if the weather is nice until I get home from work. Well, Thursday I get home and JoJo was no where to be found. Called and called for him and he didn't come. I thought he was injured/passed out under a bush so I kept calling and looking. Then, I saw the HOLE. SCARED ME TO DEATH. JoJo had dug a hole through our back fence into the park. I immediately went into the park and started calling for him. Called Eric to let him know what happened, then called my father-in-law to come help me look. After searching for about 15 to 20 minutes, I finally found him. GEEZ. WORST 15 MINUTES EVER. I LOVE THAT DOG SO MUCH. Hopefully, JoJo learned his lesson. We have reinforced the fence somewhat, but I am still nervous to leave him out there.
Glad I found him safe and sound :)

Tonight we went to Eric's parents for Eric's b-day celebration. His dad cooked ribs out on the grill and they were amazing! We had ribs, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, home-made pickles, and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. YUMMY! We took JoJo over and he had a ball playing with his fellow family members plus he got a lot of good food :)

Tomorrow night, Eric and I are hitting up a Grizzlies game! Go Grizz Go!

Week of Freedom!

This was a great week of freedom! Yes, I would have loved to go somewhere exciting for Spring Break, but I enjoyed staying home and relaxing just as much. Being pregnant, I needed all the down time I could get to make sure I don't over do it. Don't want to put too much stress on the baby!

I accomplished the few minor items that I needed to get done. Items accomplished: got ahead on ASU class, caught up on the school scrapbook, FINISHED the school Yearbook (wonderful feeling), Mama and Emily painted the nursery (very cute color), got my car's oil changed, vacuumed and cleaned the inside of my car, had lunch with my awesome grandparents, got the last letters for Kaylee's name on the nursery wall, and shopped for Eric's b-day.

The wall color which the picture does not represent it very well. It is more yellow in person.

The letters for above Kaylee's crib
The ribbon that I may or may not use to hang the letters. If I do, I will alternate the colors for each letter.

All the rest of my week was spent relaxing on the couch watching Netflix and hanging out/walking JoJo :) The weather has been gorgeous! I mainly watched Ugly Betty which is a show I would have never thought I would like. It is all about a fashion magazine and I could really care less about famous people and fashion, but the plot behind the show is great. Betty is an "ugly" but awesome assistant for the new editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine. All kinds of crazy drama happens each episode and so far I have watched 21 of the 23 from the first season. Netflix has all the seasons that I can easily stream so I will be finished with the show before I know it.

Eric and I watched The Social Network last night as the first Netflix movie we received in the mail. Very good movie portraying the story of how Facebook came to be. Crazy how strange the creator of the company is.....and how fast it grew! Movie had my attention the whole time and Eric enjoyed it too.

Top 2 Tuesday!

Linking up for Top 2 Tuesday! Topic: 2 Random Facts About You

1. I absolutely cannot stand roaches. They freak me out. I will scream for Eric when I see one so that he can kill it. However, if I am at school with students, I will be brave and smash one for so the kids will quit freaking out. I can put on a brave face when I choose, but roaches freak me out more than any other type of bug or animal.

2. I hate down time. I often complain about the amount of work that I have to do between graduate school, preparing for my school kiddos, and the extra committees and groups I get assigned to at work, but when I do not have something to do, I get bored soooooo easily. I don't know if this is a trait you can inherit, but my mom has similar qualities. When my baby girl comes into this world, I am sure I will love the different type of "down time" that I will have to spend with her :)

Welcome Spring Break!

My Spring Break has officially begun! So excited to have a week of freedom. My body needs to relax. Unknowingly, Baby Kaylee makes me more tired than I typically am. I have loved every minute of being pregnant so far though. Now that I am into week 27, I am feeling her move more and more and my belly is showing more and more. She will be here in about 3 months. So exciting. Kaylee's room is going to be painted this week by my mom and sister. Can't wait to see what it looks like! Here is an updated picture of Kaylee and me:

Weekend Recap!

Friday afternoon started off with me attending a movie with my friend Kathy and Cindy joined us this week! We almost couldn't find something to go to b/c the times were so late, but we finally discovered The Grace Card was playing at 4:00. So, off we went! I had seen on the news Friday morning that The Grace Card was filmed mostly in Memphis. I love when I get to see scenes from our town, it's too neat. The movie had an amazing story. It was sad at times, but a very uplifting and motivating story. Glad we decided to go!Friday night I actually made dinner which I hardly ever do b/c Eric usually has pizza at work. I had been craving spaghetti so I made some simple spaghetti. I think next time I make it I want to ground some beef or get some/make some meatballs to put in it to give it a little extra flavor. I also want to try whole wheat pasta since it is better for us.

Saturday for lunch, Eric and I went to The West Street Diner. I have wanted to try the diner for a long time now, and we just so happen to have tons of coupons to restaurants since I have 3 coupon books that have been given to me at work. Turns out we had a buy one meal get one coupon so we went. I got catfish, fried okra, and mac & cheese. Very tasty. My favorite part was their homemade (tasted homemade) tarter sauce and the biscuits. Oh the biscuits were so good! Eric had country fried steak, mac & cheese, and turnip greens. He wasn't as impressed with his choice as I was mine. We probably won't be going back anytime soon, but now we know what the town diner is like plus we have a breakfast coupon to use :)

Little bit later, Em and I hit up Yogurt Mountain's newest location. The yogurt choices were pretty much the same as the other location, but the building is so much smaller. We couldn't even find a place to sit that we wouldn't feel crowded in by others so we ate in the car. I got vanilla yogurt that was colored green for St. patty's Day. That is the most holiday spirited place ever! Valentine's time they had tons of pink toppings, now they have tons of green toppings.

Last night, Eric and I had one of our Walmart trips to get loads of groceries and other items. It actually wasn't that crowded so the trip wasn't a major pain like Walmart can be. When we got home, we started a free month to Netflix using our Wii, thinking we are going to love it! All we watched so far were the very first two episodes of the Office b/c it was late and I fell asleep on the couch like I typically do :)

Tonight, Em is going to spend the night since the parentals are going to the casino for the night. Lacie is joining her as well. JoJo will be thrilled!

Baby Kaylee's Crib :)

Kaylee's daddy put her crib together on his day off Monday. Isn't it pretty? Eric did a great job and he even decorated it so it looked cute when I came home to see it. You can't see in the middle, but he put a stuffed animal frog in the middle as the "baby." The bedding that is in there is not the bedding we will be keeping, but it is so very cute! We like it, but it would be difficult to find everything to match it since it was a a clearance item. I will post the bedding we picked out soon. My mom sure does a great job of finding items on clearance. Kaylee already has some adorable outfits in her closet :)

Busy Busy Week!

Had such a busy but fun week, no time to post! Here is a recap of my week :)

Sunday: Papa Faught and Adam came over to help Eric fix the garage once again. I went to Target and registered for us there then headed to Kroger to grocery shop. Then, Eric and I made dinner from a recipe which we hardly do. We made a chicken taco type casserole.

Monday: Valentine's Day! Eric and I gave each other our cards the night before plus I got some candy. A combo of sour and not sour :) We also went to Red lobster on Saturday, which was delicious. Then, we hit up Burlington's Baby Depot, registered for a few items, and bought a crib! We ended up getting a chocolate Delta crib. Picture below of what it will look like whenever we get it out of the box and set up :) After school, I went and got Em and we went to Yogurt Mountain. They had a buy one get one free deal for V-Day. She then came back home with me, we walked JoJo around the park for a bit, ate some of the chicken casserole, and hung out while we both did school stuff.

Tuesday: Typical work day, but we had a PTA meeting so I stayed in Bartlett all day arriving home at 8:00. Went to eat at O'Charleys with two of my teacher friends before the meeting. Ordered my typical chicken tenders and potato soup. So tasty! We had to wait forever for our food b/c there was some kind of mishap so our food ended up being free. Even better :)

Wednesday: Typical work day, got home at my regular time, took JoJo on a nice walk in the once again beautiful weather! Then, had dinner plans with my friend Kassie. We went to Panera to catch up since we hadn't seen each other in a while. Food was very tasty, I had a chicken bacon dijon sandwich with mac and cheese. We had a good time catching up talking about school and our lives! After that, headed to the BR to visit Em. Got a daquiri ice freeze with my coupon :)

Thursday: Typical work day with parent/teacher conferences from 4:00-7:00. Our PTA provided us with HoneyBaked Ham box lunches for our afternoon snack. I had a roast beef sandwich, baked chips, and a yummy chocolate chip cookie. Gave me just enough energy to get through the long day!

Friday: Typical work day with my fun Friday afternoon movie plans! We went and saw Just Go With It. We laughed a lot during this movie! Adam Sandler is great at making comedies, and I just love Jennifer Aniston. Definitely recommend this romantic comedy! Four stars :)
