Wednesday Loves

I'm Loving Sammie, my sister and brother-in-law's new puppy girl. She is just precious. Kaylee, Eric, and I have enjoyed spending a little time with her this past week.

 

I'm Loving our front yard. We spent most of Saturday putting in new mulch, new plants, and new flowers!

I'm Loving that Saturday is the hubby's birthday. Kaylee and I are excited to spend the day together with him and lunch with fam!

I'm Loving that this is my second blog post of the week, maybe I am getting back in the groove??

Spring Break Fun!

Spring Break has already come and gone for us here in TN land! Kaylee and I enjoyed every minute we got to spend together during the break. We played tons at the park, went to the lake, hit up story time at the library, had a picnic with friends, shopped, had some ice cream dates, and just relaxed :)

I love the one on one time that I get to spend with my girl. She turned 21 months over break. Getting close to the big 2!

She can now say a few sentences like "I got it" and "I did it." Kaylee loves to say please and thank you and she learns a new word each day. She is currently obsessed with her bunny that she got for last Easter. Bunny goes everywhere Kaylee goes. Bunny even made it into her Easter picture! 

                                      

Kaylee is super brave. She loved sitting high up in the tree at the lake. She is starting to try things more on her own without me holding her hand or helping her.

                                    

Here's to the last nine weeks flying by so my sweet girl and I can enjoy our summer fun time together!

Yo Gabba Fun!!!

Ready for her first Orpheum Experience!

Kaylee and I saw Yo Gabba Gabba Live last weekend and she had the time of her life!! I never thought that I would enjoy it as much as I did. I was so happy watching her be happy :) 

                                          

Kaylee sang and danced along to most of the songs. Her expressions were priceless :)

                                                   

She even kept hugging me b/c she was so happy that we were there :)

My girl is getting so big, I love being able to semi-have conversations now. Motherhood just keeps getting better!

Grandaddy Memories

• Sitting on his lap listening to him read Paula and me the Sunday Comics
• Playing Ole Maid-Grandaddy letting the others trick me into picking the Ole Maid- oh the tears I shed!
• Riding on his back in the indoor pool @ Navarre. Me and Paula at the same time. Geez. How did he do it?? 
• Teaching me how to dive at the indoor pool @ Navarre
• Memo sneaking Paula and me his coffee sugar cubes in their hotel bathroom @ Navarre
• Roasting hot dogs on the beach @ Navarre
• Sitting with Grandaddy and Memo while they worked puzzles @ Navarre
• Bonfires each year for his b-day
• Christmas morning- him looking and talking to me about all my Santa gifts
• The shelves he built for my room at home- one now hangs in our kitchen
• The bible verse frame he gave me on my 19th birthday with the sweet memories he had of the two of us written on the back- hanging in my hallway
• Watching soooo many of my softball games throughout my career. Loved that!
• Lunch @ their house during my college years and on breaks once I started teaching
• Calling their house and he immediately found Memo (no matter what she was doing) b/c he knew I wanted to talk to her
• Red Lobster, Dixie Cafe, and Cracker Barrel dates
• The horns he gave to Eric and always asked about where he hung them :)
• The sweet & innocent few times I brought Kaylee over to visit him.
• The smile on his face when I visited him at Fox Bridge.

My grandaddy was a sweet sweet man. Hope him and Memo have reunited in heaven :) 

Fall Break is the BEST!

I just had the best fall break of my short 5 year career. This was the first year that I was really feeling the need for the break. As many of you teachers know, education has been changing and what teachers are required to do seems to become more and more each year. I LOVE my job, but the stress can be overbearing sometimes. 

We started the week off with a trip to our amazing local zoo. Kaylee was a little nervous at first, but she sure opened up and wanted to explore as the day went on.

Later on in the week we headed to ATL to visit my brother and do some Atlanta things. We rode the local transportation train-The Marta, went to the Varsity, the Children's Museum, Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium (Which is awesome BTW), IKEA, and spent a day at Stone Mountain.

The week was just what I needed to get back in the groove of things at work. I had a wonderful day with my class today and look forward to the rest of the week!

October!

October Currently Time!

I am beyond excited about this week long break that I have. Some rain came through last night, and it now actually feels like fall, just in time for Fall Break. Eric is off Monday for Columbus Day (love bank holidays) so we are going to take Kaylee to the zoo then have a bday dinner for my daddy. Tuesday, Kaylee and I are going to story time at the library. We went to a puppet story time yesterday and she flipped with happiness especially since all the puppets were animals! Wednesday, Kaylee may have a play date plus we have to get my car ready for the trip b/c Thursday we leave for ATL. Fun week in store!
